Every comparison of these two is written for an American business, and the thing that decides it for an Indian business gets skipped entirely.
I’ll cover the prices, then the part that actually matters here.
The prices, July 2026
GoHighLevel
- Starter: $97/month, about ₹8,100. One agency account plus two sub-accounts.
- Unlimited: $297/month, about ₹25,000. Unlimited sub-accounts, API access.
- SaaS Pro: $497/month, about ₹41,500. Resell the platform as your own.
Annual billing takes roughly two months off each. Usage is billed separately: SMS, calls, email, and AI all metered. Budget 30% to 50% above the headline number once those land.
ClickFunnels
- Launch: $97/month, about ₹8,100. 10,000 contacts.
- Scale: $197/month, about ₹16,400. 75,000 contacts, API access.
- Optimize: $297/month, about ₹25,000.
- Dominate: $5,997/year, annual only.
Unlimited funnels, pages and visitors on every tier. The price climbs with contact count, not with pages.
At the entry level they cost the same. That is not the deciding factor.
The payment gateway problem
Here is the part that gets left out of every comparison I have read.
ClickFunnels adds a 1% gateway fee on top of Stripe’s own cut if you connect your own Stripe account. Worse for an Indian business: recurring subscription payments have to run through ClickFunnels’ native processor. You cannot use your own gateway for subscriptions.
Now put that against how payments actually work in India. Stripe India runs on a request-an-invite basis rather than open self-signup. Most Indian companies collect through Razorpay, Cashfree, PayU or Instamojo. Neither platform treats those as first-class integrations.
So the real question is not which builder has nicer pages. It is: how does money get from your customer’s UPI app into your bank account, and how many pieces of duct tape sit in between.
GoHighLevel loses less here, because it does not force its own processor on you and it charges no platform transaction fee. You still end up bridging to Razorpay or Cashfree with automation rather than a native integration, but you keep control of the gateway.
If your buyers pay by UPI, and in India most of them do, plan the payment layer before you pick the builder. I have watched people spend three weeks building beautiful pages and then discover they cannot collect a ₹15,000 payment cleanly.
Second India-specific point, and it is nearly as decisive.
In India, WhatsApp is where follow-up happens. Email open rates for an Indian consumer offer are a fraction of what WhatsApp gets, and SMS delivery is unpredictable once DLT registration is involved.
Neither platform has a native Indian WhatsApp Business API integration that I would rely on. Both need a bridge. GoHighLevel is easier to bridge because its automation layer and webhooks are more open, and its CRM is built for conversation threads rather than being bolted on.
ClickFunnels is a funnel builder that added a CRM. GoHighLevel is a CRM that added a funnel builder. For an Indian offer where the money is made in the follow-up, that difference decides it.
What I actually set up
For Indian clients running a VSL or webinar funnel, the stack I run is Cashfree for payments, Pabbly for automation, Brevo for email, and AiSensy for WhatsApp. GoHighLevel sits in the middle as the CRM and page layer when the client wants everything in one place.
That is four tools instead of one, and it is still the version that works, because each piece is built for the Indian market rather than adapted to it.
For clients in the UK or the US I use fewer pieces, because Stripe works and email carries the follow-up.
So which one
If you are an Indian business selling to Indian buyers, GoHighLevel, at $97 a month to start. The payment flexibility and the automation depth matter more than anything on ClickFunnels’ feature list, and you will need that flexibility on day one.
If you are an Indian business selling mainly to US or UK buyers, either works. Pick ClickFunnels if you want the funnel templates and the community, GoHighLevel if you want to grow into managing multiple brands.
If you are testing whether an offer works at all and do not want a subscription yet, Systeme.io has a genuinely usable free tier. Build the test there, prove the offer, then move.
The thing worth saying plainly
Neither tool will fix an offer nobody wants. I have seen ₹8,000-a-month software carrying a funnel that prints money and I have seen the same software carrying a funnel that has not made a rupee in four months. The builder was identical. The offer was not.
Pick the one that does not fight your payment gateway, then spend your remaining energy on the offer and the follow-up.
